As a new founded start-up going by “Dinac” it is our mission to sell as many products as we can. After several great brainstorming ideas, we decided to make an environmentally friendly pencil case. We liked this idea because people in the Christmas time need presents and the Dinac pencil case is a suitable gift for students and teachers.

If you’ve ever entered a bookstore or a store that sells school utensils then you have probably noticed the abundance of pencil cases but a closer look at these pencil cases will tell you that most of those pencil cases use or are made out of plastic. Plastic is cheap, can be easily bought and is quite useful for the creation of pencil cases. There is however a flaw in the use of plastic: It is environment unfriendly. Pencil cases are one of the most sold products by bookstores. This is because a lot of people buy a new one at the start of each school year and their old pencil case lands in the trash can.

That gave us the motivation to produce pencil cases out of metal. We decided for industrial cans for the outside, which were donated to us by the company Pirlo group. They gave them to us because of minimal production errors, which meant that they couldn’t use them anymore.

After we have received the cans, the production began. The inside of the cans was covered with felt, and we allowed our customers to customise the outside.
